Sustainable Pork
Rancho Llano Seco is partnering up with the Eat Real food festival in Oakland September 23rd- 25th. In our 4th year, Llano Seco will showcase everything that is Offal Wonderful. It is our opportunity to introduce to the public the importance of utilizing the whole hog and all its sustainable, scrumptious pieces and parts. Traditionally, offal are off-cuts and organ meat that include the tail, ears and head.
This year Llano Seco is sponsoring "The Sausage Rebellion," a butchery demo featuring an all-female line-up. Come watch as four of the Bay Area's best butchers break down a whole hog. The demo will take place at the Eat Real Main Stage at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 24th. Bay Area butchers from Avedanos, Clove and Hoof, V. Miller Meats and Fatted Calf with break down a whole hog while Monica Rocchinio from The Local Butcher Shop emcees. This demonstration will also give the audience an opportunity to ask questions about whole animal butchery and farm to fork sustainable California pork.
While the demo is taking place, stop by Llano Seco's pop-up booth near the Main Stage to learn more about our responsible practices in land stewardship and holistic approach to ranching. We will be selling our Offal Wonderful and Rancho merchandise and giving out discounts to our new online sales site-- have our products delivered directly to your door.
